SAAZ Intraclub Brew Challenge

SAAZ quarterly Intraclub Brew Challenges continue for 2016. We would like to encourage more brewing in the club and provide more feedback to our brewers. Each quarter the club will announce the challenge ingredient/style and requirements.

RULES:

1) Must be a current SAAZ Member with 2016 Dues paid.

2) Sign-up for the challenge at a meeting – General or Officer. The supplies for each challenge are limited and to keep things fair for all we will not accept sign-ups at any other time.

3) Must pick up special ingredient at a SAAZ Meeting (General or Officer), we will not make special arrangements to deliver items.

4) Bring 6 – 12 oz bottles or a 64 oz growler of your beer to the designated meeting for judging.

5) SAAZ will provide a prize for the winner of the challenge. We also encourage you to enter into upcoming homebrew competitions to win even more!

6) If you fail to participate in a challenge it will affect your ability to partake in future challenges.

CHALLENGE #2 – BEAN ME UP SCOTTY

In January we gave brewers 4oz of coffee from Indian River Coffee to use creatively their next brew. There are no restrictions, just feature the coffee in your beer. Entries will be judged at the Spring Party in March. HAPPY BREWING and GOOD LUCK!

Challenge #4 – Extreme Brew Challenge

No rules, just Extreme Beers… Russ Pellow this one is for you! Have you ever wanted to experiment and add Birthday Cake or Tang to your beer? How about an artichoke (Drew Thaller)? Well here is your chance to get your creative juices flowing and brew something off the wall. No BJCP styles here, just a popularity contest. Presentation of the beer will also be considered if you care to rim your glass or serve with a truffle made from the beer. Only goal is to make everyone love it! Beers will be judged at the July Meeting. Start thinking about this one now. Remember the crazier the better. I believe Ryan Kaestner will be using the tears of Virgins and Unicorn hooves so don’t steal his ideas. CHEERS!

SAAZ T-shirt Orderscropped-SAAZ_Logo_Color_RGB_Final.png

I know many of you cannot wait to order a shirt with the new SAAZ logo, or even get a SAAZ shirt. It has been awhile since we produced any. One of the reasons being that we did not have any high quality art files of the old logo. So now we have an awesome new design and want to show it off at our meetings, brew fests, other competitions and around town.

Shirt sales will start with this Newsletter and continue until March 31st. We will have a sign up at the Spring Party this weekend. All shirts Small-XL are $15 to keep it simple. 2XL adds $2 and 3XL adds $3. The club will use the extra funding to help replace some of the stolen equipment. We have several different styles and colors to pick from. If you don’t see what you are looking for then please email Anne and we can see about adding an option. Here are a few mock ups of shirt options to give you an idea of the styles.SAAZ Shirt Example

New Shirt Options – Pictures of the shirts, I only did one of each style/color. Please see sign-up for full options. For ladies not all colors available in each style.

Online Sign-up – click here to order your shirt.

Sign-up by March 31st!!!

Pay for shirts at the Spring Party (cash or check requested). All shirts Small-XL are $15 to keep it simple. 2XL adds $2 and 3XL adds $3. If you will not be at the Spring Party you can mail a check to treasurer Sean Gregg (email him for address).  We need payment before the order deadline of March 31st. Shirts will be ready at the April Meeting.
