Blow off from the Prez

Why does Light beer go through your system so fast?

Because it does not have to stop to change color.

Secretary’s Report

Silence is golden, except when coming from children…

Then you’d better go and see what’s broken.

July Birthdays – Happy Birthday!

Anne Gregg
Frank Scelso
Chet Sparks
Denise Thaller
Rudi Wehmschulte

Don’t see your name (and your birthday is in July)? It could be that Kevin doesn’t have a completed membership form from you. Ask him for one at the next meeting so we can include you!

Upcoming Events

Bottoms Up Beer Run

SAAZ has a new fundraiser and needs your help. We want to raise money to support club brewing, education and fun trips/pub crawls.

We are hosting a 4K beer run with homebrew at the start, end and each 1K along the way. We need lots of help to make this successful.

Everyone mark your calendar to help volunteer or run the Bottoms Up Beer Run 8/17/13 at 6:30pm.

I need brewers to help brew the beer for the run, SAAZ will reimburse you.

Please email Anne Gregg if you can help (annecgregg@earthlink.net).

Night of the Living Ales

October 31st, Halloween Night, The Broken Barrel Tavern will be offering it’s first annual “Night of the Living Ales”  featuring a minimum of 30 sour ales!

Details to come, but we will be featuring Berliner Weiss (and hopefully by then some Florida Weiss!), Flanders Red & Brown Ale, Lambic and American Wild Ales!  This is going to be a massive event, so prepare accordingly and when the time comes, we’ll likely hook up with a hotel for a discounted rate for all those looking to get the most out of this rare event!

We started collecting beers to offer for this several months ago, and we’re not done yet!

Cheers!

Kevin E Menard
Chief Sampler, The Broken Barrel Tavern

**Keg Donations**

Attention Members

We realize that the beer you provide for events such as those above does not magically appear and cost you nothing. Therefore, SAAZ will be implementing a new policy to help reimburse you for the beer you bring to events.

Full keg – $40

All reimbursement requests can be given to the Treasurer.
