AUGUST MEETING – 8/16/15

Bugnutty Brewing Company 715 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island FL 32953. Bugnutty is located off Courtenay Parkway in a shopping plaza on the West side of the street. There is a light at Richland Avenue where you can turn into the plaza. Look for a Dollar Tree and a Chinese Buffet.
This meeting will be all about our club’s competition – Commander SAAZ Interplanetary Homebrew Blastoff.
We will be signing up volunteers for Commander SAAZ. We need judges, stewards, swag masters, coolers apes and much more.
We are also selling tickets for Commander’s Call Beer Fest and Splashdown Party. BRING CASH OR CHECK!
Raffle Time – bring a few bucks so you don’t miss out!

Commander SAAZ Interplanetary Homebrew Blastoff – October 2nd/3rd
Commander SAAZ Interplanetary Homebrew Blastoff is the homebrew competition hosted by SAAZ every fall. This year’s event will be held October 2nd & 3rd at the Cocoa Beach Hilton. Pre-launch operations are now in progress and Astronaut training has been completed.
This year the Commander turns 21, so you know we will be throwing an EPIC Intergalactic Party!

Entry Window is OPEN! Enter from August 3rd – September 8th!
Start brewing now for the best competition in the universe! Tell every homebrewer in the galaxy to get their kettles boiling and unearth the bottles that have been stashed in the back of the fridge! Engineers, rocket scientists, and other cosmic creatures are ready and waiting to judge your brew.
Winners of CSIHB receive not only intergalactic recognition but a coveted Commander SAAZ Medal and a fabulous prize from one of our generous sponsors. The best of show beer and mead/cider winners will also be awarded the Commander’s Cosmic Trophy and the respect of the known brewing universe. Whomever sends the Commander into orbit with their Rocket Fuel (10% abv and above) will also receive the Rocket Fuel Trophy!!!
Tickets for the Commander’s Call Beerfest and Splashdown Party Awards Ceremony will be available soon. You don’t want to miss these awesome events and your chance to meet the Commander himself! Not to mention you can imbibe in this year’s commemorative beer, an English Barley Wine, a high quality rocket fuel for powering your night!

Bottoms Up Beer Run
SAAZ was able to donate $5000 to St. Baldricks through the Bottoms Up Beer Run and events related to the run! Great job everyone and thank you for making it a success. Save the date for next year… June 11, 2016!
SAAZ Fantasy Football League – The Brew Ballers
We are looking forward to another great Fantasy season. If you played last year you have first dibs but if you would like to join please email the Commish (Anne Gregg) and I will let you know if any spots open up. Entry fee is a bomber of beer that must be in my hands on draft day !
Winner takes home a case of beer! Rod Queen won last year, will he be dethroned???
