Bus Trip!!!<\/h2>\n

On July 22, 2017, SAAZ will be hosting a Jacksonville pub crawl (bus trip), open to members and non-members. The cost to attend is as follows:
\n$30 per SAAZ Member
\n$40 each for Friends\/Family<\/p>\n

Here is the planned itinerary for the day:
\n8:30 \u2013 Meet at WOB
\n9:00 \u2013 Bus leaves (Bring snacks on the bus and some beers to share. SAAZ will grab subs for lunch. We will eat at first stop.)
\n12:00 \u2013 Southern Swells Brewing Co.
\n1:00 \u2013 Green Room Brewing
\n2:05 \u2013 Atlantic Beach Brewing
\n3:40 \u2013 Intuition Ale Works
\n4:55 \u2013 Aardwolf Brewing Company
\n6:15 \u2013 Kickbacks Gastropub (We will eat dinner here, bring money for your dinner.)

SAAZ\u00a0Intraclub Brew Challenge
\n<\/strong>SAAZ quarterly Intraclub Brew Challenges will continue in 2017. We would like to encourage more brewing in the club and provide more feedback to our brewers. Each quarter the club will announce the challenge ingredient\/style and requirements.<\/p>\n

RULES:
\n1) Must be a current SAAZ\u00a0Member with 2017 Dues paid.
\n2) Sign-up for the challenge at a meeting – General or Officer. The supplies for each challenge are limited and to keep things fair for all we will not accept sign-ups at any other time.
\n3) Must pick up special ingredient at a SAAZ\u00a0Meeting (General or Officer), we will not make special arrangements to deliver items.
\n4) Bring 6 – 12 oz bottles or a 64 oz growler of your beer to the designated meeting for judging.
\n5) SAAZ\u00a0will provide a prize for the winner of the challenge. We also encourage you to enter into upcoming homebrew competitions to win even more!
\n6) If you fail to participate in a challenge it will affect your ability to partake in future challenges.<\/p>\n

CHALLENGE #1 – Hop Salad<\/p>\n

For this challenge participants blindly picked three ounces of mystery hops and designed a beer around them, any style of their choosing. \u00a0Entries for this challenge were judged at our January meeting at Coasters. \u00a0The winner of this Challenge was Billy Dawson with a California Common.<\/p>\n

CHALLENGE #2 – IRISH you were Beer!<\/p>\n

Starting in January we began giving brewers Kent Goldings hops to use in their next brew. Beers for this Challenge must be from BJCP Category 15 – 15A Irish Red Ale, 15B Irish Stout or 15C Irish Extra Stout. The winner of this Challenge was Dan Shirah with an Irish Extra Stout.<\/p>\n

CHALLENGE #3 –\u00a0Fruit Challenge<\/p>\n

Starting at the Spring Party interested club members can draw a fruit\u00a0to use in their next brew. \u00a0Entries will be judged at the\u00a0Summer Party this Saturday, June 17. \u00a0And the winner of this challenge was Eric Essenwein with a Lime Wheat beer.<\/p>\n

CHALLENGE #4 –\u00a0Operation Festbier<\/p>\n

Starting at the July meeting interested club members can pick up some noble hops (limited supply) to be used in a German style beer. \u00a0Entries will be judged at SAAZtoberfest.

Commander SAAZ!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Commander SAAZ 2017 is officially online at Reggiebeer!:\u00a0http:\/\/reggiebeer.com\/ReggieEntry.php<\/a><\/p>\n

This year, we will be at the DoubleTree Cocoa Beach Oceanfront, with a room block for SAAZ ($119\/night, same as last year), and events being held both Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n

Policy: SAAZ\u00a0will reimburse entry payments for Florida circuit competitions, up to 10 per brewer and up to $1000 total per year. Remember that SAAZ\u00a0policies and procedures state that any expense must be turned in within 90 days for reimbursement. If you enter any FLORIDA CIRCUIT competitions this year, email a copy of your registration to\u00a0Anne Gregg<\/a>\u00a0for reimbursement.<\/p>\n
