If you haven\u2019t already, during the meeting you can pay your 2017 dues.<\/p>\n Also, you can sign up\u00a0for upcoming beer fests, volunteer to be a part of the Bottoms Up Beer Run Committee, and sign up for a possible bus trip in the near future!!!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n SAAZ <\/strong>Intraclub Brew Challenge<\/strong> RULES: CHALLENGE #1 – Hop Salad<\/p>\n For this challenge participants blindly picked three ounces of mystery hops and designed a beer around them, any style of their choosing. \u00a0Entries for this challenge were judged at our January meeting at Coasters. \u00a0The winner of this Challenge was Billy Dawson with a California Common.<\/p>\n CHALLENGE #2 – IRISH you were Beer!<\/p>\n Starting in January we began giving brewers Kent Goldings hops to use in their next brew. Beers for this Challenge must be from BJCP Category 15 – 15A Irish Red Ale, 15B Irish Stout or 15C Irish Extra Stout. <\/p>\n Commander SAAZ!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n Commander SAAZ 2017 is officially online at Reggiebeer!: http:\/\/reggiebeer.com\/ReggieEntry.php<\/a><\/p>\n This year, we will be at the DoubleTree Cocoa Beach Oceanfront, with a roomblock for SAAZ ($119\/night, same as last year), and events being held both Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n Stay tuned for more information as we update our website. \n<\/strong>SAAZ quarterly Intraclub Brew Challenges will continue in 2017. We would like to encourage more brewing in the club and provide more feedback to our brewers. Each quarter the club will announce the challenge ingredient\/style and requirements.<\/p>\n
\n1) Must be a current SAAZ\u00a0Member with 2017 Dues paid.
\n2) Sign-up for the challenge at a meeting – General or Officer. The supplies for each challenge are limited and to keep things fair for all we will not accept sign-ups at any other time.
\n3) Must pick up special ingredient at a SAAZ\u00a0Meeting (General or Officer), we will not make special arrangements to deliver items.
\n4) Bring 6 – 12 oz bottles or a 64 oz growler of your beer to the designated meeting for judging.
\n5) SAAZ\u00a0will provide a prize for the winner of the challenge. We also encourage you to enter into upcoming homebrew competitions to win even more!
\n6) If you fail to participate in a challenge it will affect your ability to partake in future challenges.<\/p>\n

We encourage you to read his candidate statement which can be found at:https:\/\/www.homebrewersassociation.org\/membership\/aha-governing-committee\/election\/ron-minkoff\/<\/a>Ron resides in Florida (btw, it’s been awhile since a Governing Committee member hailed from the east coast, much less the southeast), but Ron looks forward to working with all home brewers from all four corners. As recently overheard at a thunderous campaign rally (and by rally we mean a few friends at his compound, and by compound, we mean his driveway): “Considering the currently charged political atmosphere, I pledge to run on a beer platform of non-astringency….I don’t even own a Twitter account.”He seems harmless.<\/p>\n
