November’s party is dedicated to the nectar of the Gods, MEAD!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Come drink mead \u00a0with your friends from SAAZ. We have the leftover Commander SAAZ mead entries to drink and you are encouraged to bring your own meads to share.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Our gracious host Dave will give a tour of the facility, let you try some honey from the comb and then when it dark, build a bonfire to keep you warm. This is a party you don’t want to miss.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Webb’s Honey House is located off SR 520 as you head west towards Orlando. Look for the giant bee out front. Also please don’t park in front of the store entrance as it is open until 5pm. Feel free to start your Christmas shopping.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Bring a side dish, bag of ice and mead (or beer) to share. SAAZ will provide the meat and mead.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Time to renew your membership for 2016 and get your new cards! Don’t\u00a0forget your $$$ to pay your 2016 dues and nominate yourself or a friend to be a SAAZ Officer in 2016.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Announcing SAAZ Intraclub Brew Challenge<\/h1>\n

Back by popular demand, SAAZ is continuing a quarterly Intraclub Brew Challenge. We would like to encourage more brewing in the club and provide more feedback to our brewers. Each quarter the club will announce the challenge ingredient\/style and requirements. Members will need to sign up to participate since SAAZ will be providing a special ingredient. Brewers will then have 3 months to brew the beer and then bring to a meeting for feedback and competition. Prizes will be awarded.<\/h3>\n

CHALLENGE #1 –\u00a0Dr. Rudi SMASH<\/span>\"hoppy<\/h2>\n

Get your hops sacks ready and your boil kettles clean!\u00a0 SAAZ has purchased a limited amount of hops\u00a0and will be giving it away to our club members!\u00a0 Here are the details: Starting at our SAAZtoberfest party on October 24th, SAAZ members who have paid their 2016 dues are eligible to receive up to 5 oz of Dr. Rudi\u00a0hops.\u00a0 Members will\u00a0brew a SMASH (Single Malt, Single Hop) using 2-row or Maris Otter and featuring Dr. Rudi\u00a0hops. \u00a0Then, at our January meeting, we will have some expert beer judges\u00a0evaluate the beers.<\/h3>\n

The amount of hops is limited, and they will be available on a first come, first serve basis, per the guidelines above.\u00a0 Now get ready to do some brewing!<\/h3>\n

\"indian<\/a>CHALLENGE #2 – Bean Me Up Scotty<\/h3>\n

Starting in January we will be giving brewers up to 4oz of coffee from Indian River Coffee to use creatively in your next brew. There are no restrictions, just feature\u00a0the coffee in your beer. Entries will be judged at the Spring Party in March.<\/h3>\n

2016 Dues – Time to renew!<\/b><\/h1>\n

If you want to be included in all the fun events SAAZ has coming up, it’s time to renew your membership. Some of the upcoming events and brew challenges are only open to currently paid 2016 members. There are many advantages to membership, you do not want to miss out. Please pay the Treasurer (Sean Gregg) at any club meeting or online at our website via PayPal –\u00a0Click here to pay<\/a>. Make sure to get your new membership card from the secretary.<\/h3>\n

Reminder that SAAZ policies and procedures now state that any expense must be turned in within 90 days for reimbursement.\u00a0 If any of you have entered competitions this year, now would be a good time to get those receipts in. \u00a0Email Sean Gregg<\/a> to get your reimbursement.<\/h3>\n

Policy: SAAZ will reimburse entry payments for Florida circuit competitions, up to 10 per brewer and up to $1000 total per year.<\/h3>\n
