This year\u2019s event was held October 2nd-3rd\u00a0at the Cocoa Beach Hilton.<\/h3>\n

The 21st Commander SAAZ was another great competition, we judged 750 entries in 29 categories! We drank a lot of great beers together and had some fun too. Thank you to all the help getting this task completed. Without you this wouldn\u2019t be the best competition in the universe!<\/h3>\n

Announcing SAAZ Intraclub Brew Challenge<\/h1>\n

Back by popular demand, SAAZ is continuing a quarterly Intraclub Brew Challenge. We would like to encourage more brewing in the club and provide more feedback to our brewers. Each quarter the club will announce the challenge ingredient\/style and requirements. Members will need to sign up to participate since SAAZ will be providing a special ingredient. Brewers will then have 3 months to brew the beer and then bring to a meeting for feedback and competition. Prizes will be awarded.<\/h3>\n

CHALLENGE #1 –\u00a0Dr. Rudi SMASH<\/span>\"hoppy<\/h2>\n

Get your hops sacks ready and your boil kettles clean!\u00a0 SAAZ has purchased a limited amount of hops\u00a0and will be giving it away to our club members!\u00a0 Here are the details: Starting at our SAAZtoberfest party on October 24th, SAAZ members who have paid their 2016 dues are eligible to receive up to 5 oz of Dr. Rudi\u00a0hops.\u00a0 Members will\u00a0brew a SMASH (Single Malt, Single Hop) using 2-row or Maris Otter and featuring Dr. Rudi\u00a0hops. \u00a0Then, at our January meeting, we will have some expert beer judges\u00a0evaluate the beers.<\/h3>\n

The amount of hops is limited, and they will be available on a first come, first serve basis, per the guidelines above.\u00a0 Now get ready to do some brewing!<\/h3>\n
