Big Brew Day – May 3rd @ Brock’s Homebrew Supply<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n
Celebrate National Homebrew Day<\/a>\u00a0by brewing with your SAAZ friends at Brock’s. We will have a large tent, access to water and electricity and Brock’s will be open in case you need anything else. Brew one of the official recipes, beer for the Bottoms Up Beer Run or one of your own creations. You can also come and watch the brewing process if you are new to homebrewing.<\/p>\n
We need help brewing for the Bottoms Up Beer Run. We anticipate 500 runners and need 150 gallons of beer!!! PLEASE HELP!!! If you are brewing for the run, SAAZ will provide the ingredients! Email Keith Allen<\/a> to sign up.<\/p>\n

Bottoms Up Beer Run – June 7th, 6:30pm @ Wickham Park<\/span><\/h2>\n
The Bottoms Up Beer Run is a fun 4K that combines running (or walking) with homebrew along the way.\u00a0Brewers from SAAZ will be providing 5 different homebrews for enjoyment along the course. Participants (21y\/o and up) can consume 4 – 4oz beer shots along the race course and finish with a full beer.\u00a0The race is professionally timed by the Running Zone so you can race your way through quickly to a personal best or take your time sipping along the way and laugh at how long it took you to do a 4K.\u00a0Proceeds from the race benefit St. Baldrick’s and SAAZ.<\/p>\n
This is our second year and we have plans to make this year even bigger and better than the first year but we need your help. Ways you can be a part of this FUNdraiser!<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/b><\/h1>\nSAAZ will be hosting their 2nd Spring Fling with Smoked Wings Intra-Club Homebrew Competition on May 18th, 2014 at the Broken Barrel Tavern! \u00a0 This is a great way to get feedback on your brews, win some prizes, and earn some SAAZ bragging rights. \u00a0Ohhh…and did I mention WINGS?! \u00a0Prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category and the Best of Show. \u00a0Entries will be judged by\u00a0fellow SAAZ members and\u00a0BJCP judges based on the\u00a0BJCP Style\u00a0Guidelines<\/a>.\u00a0Entries are $4 each<\/strong>\u00a0– Cash or check only (NO PayPal). \u00a0Please submit 3 bottles per entry (2 bottle entries are accepted but will not be eligible for B.O.S.).\u00a0Here is the link for\u00a0online registration<\/a>\u00a0via the Reggie entry system. \u00a0Please bring your entries to any of the SAAZ monthly meetings or drop them off with an officer.\u00a0Online entry and drop-off deadline is May 10, 2014!\u00a0<\/b><\/b>Let’s get to brewing! \u00a0If you have any questions feel free to contact\u00a0Andrew Carpenter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

- 3 commercial beers in 3 different styles have been chosen:\n

- Porter:<\/b>\u00a0Sierra Nevada Porter<\/li>\n
- Belgium:<\/b>\u00a0Saison Dupont<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
- Each Center selects the\u00a03 best beers<\/b>\u00a0from\u00a0all\u00a03 styles<\/li>\n
- Additional points given to the homebrew that tastes most like the commercial equivalent<\/li>\n
- All entries will be sent to a single judging location (TBD),\u00a0due in early April 2014<\/li>\n
