We will be selling tickets for Commander SAAZ, have t-shirt sign-ups, and talk about Stewarding as our education topic.<\/p>\n<p>We also need your help to make the event a success! This Saturday, August 24th we will be sorting entries at Dave Webb&#8217;s. To volunteer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saaz.org\/cms\/?page_id=494\" target=\"_blank\">sign-up<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also, don&#8217;t forget that you need to book your hotel by\u00a0Friday\u00a0(August 23rd) afternoon to get the SAAZ discount! Mention SAAZ when you call or enter promo code &#8220;SAA&#8221; online.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As always, bringing homebrew to share is strongly encouraged, but please respect our gracious host and leave commercial beers at home.<\/p>\n<p>Next-Next Meeting:\u00a0September 14th: <strong>COMMANDER SAAZ!<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Upcoming Events<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Night of the Living Ales<\/span><\/p>\n<p>October 31st, Halloween Night, The Broken Barrel Tavern will be offering\u00a0it&#8217;s first annual &#8220;Night of the Living Ales&#8221; \u00a0featuring a minimum of 30 sour\u00a0ales!<\/p>\n<p>Details to come, but we will be featuring Berliner Weiss (and\u00a0hopefully by then some Florida Weiss!), Flanders Red &amp; Brown Ale, Lambic and\u00a0American Wild Ales! \u00a0This is going to be a massive event, so prepare\u00a0accordingly and when the time comes, we&#8217;ll likely hook up with a hotel for a\u00a0discounted rate for all those looking to get the most out of this rare\u00a0event!<\/p>\n<p>We started collecting beers to offer for this several months ago,\u00a0and we&#8217;re not done yet!<\/p>\n<p>Cheers!<\/p>\n<p>Kevin E Menard<br \/>\nChief Sampler, The Broken Barrel Tavern<\/p>\n<p>**Keg Donations**<\/p>\n<p>Attention Members<\/p>\n<p>We realize that the beer you provide for events such as those above does not magically appear and cost you nothing. Therefore, SAAZ will be implementing a new policy to help reimburse you for the beer you bring to events.<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 keg \u2013 $20<br \/>\nFull keg \u2013 $40<\/p>\n<p>All reimbursement requests can be given to the Treasurer.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Upcoming Competitions<\/h2>\n<h3>19th Annual Commander SAAZ Interplanetary Homebrew Blast-Off!!!<\/h3>\n<p>Important Dates<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Entry Window &#8211; July 15th thru August 20th, 2013<\/li>\n<li>Entry Sorting &#8211; Starting at 10:00am on August 24-25, 2013<\/li>\n<li>Early Round Judging &#8211; Starting at 10:00am August 31-September 1 and September 7-8, 2013<\/li>\n<li>Final Judging &#8211; Starting at 8:00am on September 13-14, 2013<\/li>\n<li>Commander\u2019s Call at the Hospitality Suite &#8211; The party starts at 7:00pm on September 13th, 2013<\/li>\n<li>Awards Ceremony, Dinner, and Splashdown Party &#8211; The ceremony starts at 7pm on September 14th, 2013<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Schedule<br \/>\nThe entry window opens on July 15th, but slams shut on August 20th. Depending on the number of entries we will be doing at least one weekend of early round judging, and we will need your help! Early round judging will be held the weekends of August 31-September 1 and September 7-8.
