Things that just happened:

May Happy Hour at Hidden Level was a lot of fun, we weren’t the winning trivia team but we had a lot of fun!!!

BUBR was an amazing event!! Thank you to everyone who brewed, volunteered, came out and supported St Baldricks and SAAZ!!!A lot of money was raised, beer was consumed and fun was had by all!!!

 

Things that are about to happen:

6/9 Registration for First Coast Cup opens up on Monday!!

6/11 Happy Hour at Beachfly with Fire Dancers!! Drinking Starting at 6:30 pm with fire show starting at 7:30 pm!!

6/12 Happy hour at Playalinda at Brix 6pm!!!

Yes that’s two happy hours in June!!! Happiest month of the year!!(also my birthday month, go Geminis – yeah we crazy, you love it)

6/22 June SAAZ meeting at Bugnutty!!! 2pm!! Education Topic: Bottling to Win Competitions (In two categories perhaps…)!!! Feel free to bring home brews to share and be ready to eat some fabulous food and drink awesome Bugnutty beers!! We will be starting to sell dinner seats for CSAAZ awards night at this event so bring your cash or cards, 30$ per person includes dinner and 4 BEERS!!

7/11 6:30p Paint Night at Painting with a Twist in Cocoa Village, This will be BYOB, cost estimate around 40$. Sign up will be on an individual basis , link to be provided soon.

7/19 Summer Party!!! At Don and Donna Deis Clubhouse Capron Ridge Clubhouse 1187 Ballinton Dr Melbourne. This is a great party and venue and we thank the Deis’s very much for hosting. Please bring a dish of your choice and brews to share, there is also a pool at this venue so bring whatever equipment that implies for you – don’t forget your water wings. There will be some amazing raffles of fabulous ingredients!!! There will be some pre-purchase opportunities for raffle tickets for particular lots of ingredients before the party, stay tuned for more info!!!

8/2025 Commander SAAZ!!!!!

We are coming up on that time again – CSAAZ. Yes, the awards ceremony is not until August, but it is time now to start thinking about brewing an award winning adult beverage. Let’s bring home our bling!

Here are some of the key points and dates:
Competition max of 350 entries. Max of three entries per contestant, 3 bottles per entry. One of these can count towards Rocket Fuel. We will follow the 2021 Beer, 2015 Mead,and 2025 Cider Guidelines.
Registration window: June 16 – July 23
Delivery window: July 9 – July 23
Judge and volunteer registration: June 16 – August 16

July 26 Saturday – Sorting and flighting at Casa Bessette

July 27 Sunday – Initial judging session at Beachfly (Also pickup for remote judging. )

August 2 and 3 at Hell ‘n Blazes Brewing Company First formal judging weekend

August 9 and 10 at Beachfly Brewing Company Second formal judging weekend

August 15 Pub Crawl in Cocoa Village – We will likely start early and everyone can join as they get off

August 16 Dinner and awards ceremony at Bugnutty Brewing Company. Dinner at 5:30, awards at 7:00pm. (Members are welcome to bring bottled homebrews to share, no kegs please.)

Dinner will start at 5:30pm and will be catered by Wanderlust, (ie Aaron Rosenow’s kitchen within Bugnutty). Aaron is providing a feast of BBQ for us so buy your dinner seat (only 30$ per person, this includes 4 beers) and bring your appetite!!! Dinner will feature brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, mac and cheese, green beans, coleslaw, garlic toast and cookies!!!! Again each dinner purchase comes with 4 beer tickets so it’s a helluva a deal at only 30$. Yes 30$ covers dinner and 4 delicious Bugnutty beers (gratuity not included, TIP YOUR BARSTAFF!!)!!! We will begin selling dinners seats at the summer party and this will continue through all of CSAAZ and SAAZ events up until awards night.

Other notes: BOS Judging is planned for early afternoon August 16 time T.B.D. We reserve the right to move the BOS to August 10th in the unlikely event that we are running well ahead of schedule.
The SAAZ website will contain the latest updates (https://www.saaz.org/cms/).
We have plenty of 6-pack holders. We could always use more case boxes. Save them over the coming months. You can always store them with the Commander.

Upcoming Beerfests:

October 25th 2025 Space Coast Brewfest in Titusville, SAAZ will be brewing and pouring for this event, plan your brews now!!! There will also  be a special competition held the night before at the brewers party!!Each brewclub will be pouring an exclusive beer that we will be serving the the VIP tent.  The brewers attending the pre-party the night before will vote a favorite beer and the VIP attendees will also vote a favorite with an exciting prize in store that any brewer will absolutely love!!! More info soon.
