SPRING FLING with SMOKED WINGS COMPETITION
May 17th, 10AM @ The Broken Barrel Tavern
To help Keith and our judges prepare for another Epic Commander SAAZ, we are holding a smaller SAAZ only SPRING FLING competition.
We need judges, stewards, entries and club participation! Entries will be picked up at Brock’s on Friday, May 15th.

Cost $4 per entry, please pay the entry fees at the meeting (or prior) or you will be disqualified from any awards.

Accepted BJCP (2008) Categories:
10: American Ale & 14: IPA
12: Porter & 13: Stout
24-28: Cider & Mead
23: Specialty – this is the catch-all category! You can enter any beer you want to here – Belgians, English Mild, Smoked Porter, your Hunahpu Clone…
Awards will be given out at the SAAZ Meeting. Winner of Best of Show will take half of the entry fees home! Other prizes awards for Gold Medal winners in each category.

Competition Volunteers:
Please arrive at 10AM to help set up and we will start judging ASAP.
We have 2 rounds for each category and a Best of Show to get through in a few hours so we need all of our BJCP judges and some stewards.
For your help you will be rewarded with Smoked Chicken Wings for lunch!
Bottoms Up Beer Run – June 13th, 2015 @ 6pm
Save the date & tell your friends to join us for an awesome 4K with homebrew along the way!
Proceeds from the run support St. Baldrick’s!
Please email Anne or sign up at a meeting to help. We need help with PR, sponsors and event volunteers.
Please plan to take more postcards and coasters to area businesses to help promote the run!

CHALLENGE #4 – Sch-WHEAT on Homebrew
The next next challenge will feature WHEAT BEERS, perfect for summer time drinking.
SAAZ will provide the wheat for your brew and you provide the rest.
We have space for 8 All-Grain Brewers and 4 Extract Brewers. Sign-up at the May SAAZ Meeting, we have a few spots left.
All-Grain Brewers will receive 6lb of malted white wheat and Extract Brewers get a 3lb bag of Briess Bavarian Wheat DME
Remember you must bring your beer to be judged at the Summer Party.

The SAAZ Library is full of great books and magazines to help make you a better brewer. You can view the entire list of publications here. If you see something that interests you, simply send an email to the librarian with your name and the publication title, and the Librarian will bring it to the next monthly member meeting.
